Atfaluna Partners with Human Appeal
Gaza City, Palestine, 26 June 2018 – Following its mission in improving the lives of the persons with disabilities (PwDs), Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) signed a partnership agreement with Human Appeal-UK to conduct training workshop in the field of home-furniture making. The project targets youth with disabilities and extends for a six-month period, starting in May and end in October 2018.
This cooperation aims at enhancing the livelihood conditions of the target group on an individual level, as well as their families and community level in attempts to challenge the prevailing devastating economic conditions of the blockaded Gaza Strip.
“This partnership with Human Appeal will bring positive changes to the lives of the persons with disabilities in the Gaza Strip”, said Naim Kabaja, ASDC Director.
Such cooperation works to alleviate the devastation endured by the most marginalized families in the Strip, who are faced with the major repercussions of the ongoing blockade as youth unemployment has skipped 60% and over 80% of the population is aid dependent according to UNRWA.
Such projects are currently highly important in order to reduce the acute devastating results from the prolonged Israeli blockade over the past decade to the Gaza Strip. The unemployment rate among youth has skipped 60%, whereas 80% of Gazans are aid-dependent according to UNRWA.
Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children ASDC is a registered Palestinian NGO located in Gaza City, has been working in the fields of hearing disability and community development since 1992.
