Education is always a priority to children
Gaza City, Palestine, November 2018 – In continuance to its mission towards supporting the rights of the persons with disabilities, Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) partners with the Swiss Development Agency (SDC) to set off a new project titled “Provision of Quality Services for Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Students in the Gaza Strip”.
The project aims at improving the access of boys and girls with hearing disabilities to inclusive education services through the provision of the required tools and activities which will ensure their access to quality education, including special education classes, educational equipment and aids for the school, provision of school uniforms and stationery supplies.
“The cooperation will enhance children with disabilities access to quality education no matter what the obstacles are. A child’s potential can never be fulfilled away from education”. said Naim Kabaja, ASDC Director.
This cooperation also aims at helping children with hearing disabilities to overcome their educational obstacles through provision of auditory and speech therapy sessions, as well as the delivery of psycho-social services, educational sign language courses and educational field trips to enrich their learning capabilities.
Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children is a non-profit organization established in 1992 in Gaza City. He organisation endeavors to empower persons with hearing disability as well as persons with other disabilities in the Gaza Strip and improve their quality of life within a disability-inclusive development framework
